In Germany, the annual per capita consumption of textiles is 24 kg. Converted to 82 million inhabitants, these are 2 billion kg per year. Today the share of old clothing is almost 50%. The reason for these large quantities is the poor quality and thus the shorter lifespan of the textiles, changing fashion trends and increased consumption. This trend is ongoing! The disposal by incineration or final disposal at landfills is a burden for the ecological balance. Faircollect counteracts this by recycling resources: Re-use as second-hand clothing or processing into cleaning cloths and textile raw materials such as shredded fibers. The recycling rate of used shoes and clothes collected by faircollect is 90%.
Did you know that GLAESER-textil has always operated a company-owned shredding facility in which such raw materials are processed? If you are interested in this long-standing tradition, please contact us.
Faircollect recycling reduces the environmental impact and saves valuable resources.
